The Best? FIre?

This is my favorite building in my neighborhood... It is the Best? Fire Equipment.

Makes me smile every day.

Old Windows

Artifacts find a life of their own as time takes its toll,

layers of paint, wear from light, and wear from use

make that which was once mundane beautiful and unique.

Doo doo doo lookin' out my back door

It's another grey day in San Francisco bay

at least the rain's stopped for my coffee break


chilly and windy...

but this sure beats a lot of other versions of "Winter"

a falling house of brick

I'm currently working in half of a building that is falling down... but today the door into the other half of the building was open.

I tiptoed over exposed electrical pipes and cracked floors...

...and tried breathing very softly seeing the fragility of the structure...

It's amazing this fading beauty didn't fall down long ago, flattened by some small earthquake.

Somewhere in Oakland there is a building lost in time...

...rooms untouched by decades...

... it sits as the cogs that hold it together are forgotten in unknown rooms...

... those who enter dare not disturb objects that preserve the soft whispers lingering in the halls...

... and the building slowly becomes its own museum preserved by stillness.
