A somber memorial

Road Trip

I found the longest possible short cut from the I-5 to the 101 en route to Monterey. On the map it did not show how curvy the road was or the fact that the land is ruled by cows. The good news is that the road was in good shape; Because nobody ever drives it!

Eventually.... Monterey is found! Hazzah! Fish!

Kites

This is the Berkeley Marina. One of my very favorite places. Last week my sister and I tried to fly kites but wound up dragging them along like streamers. Today the wind was high and the air was filled with dragons, swimmers and rainbows in all shapes and sizes.

Happy Chinese New Year

The Entire Bay area was overrun with red lights today. Every freeway, road and method of public transit was clobbered up today. Thankfully this was the first day I haven't had anywhere to be. After a trip to the bank this morning and a fourty minute drive to go a mile and a half I became a pedestrian for the rest of the day. The first sunny day in months, the pending bank holiday and Chinese New Year posessed everybody to get in their cars and park them on the freeways.

Big Sky, small stitches

This is what I have been seeing a lot of this week. Highways and costume shop... I think that the clouds from yesterday however are much more interesting than the itty bitty stitches I've been pulling at and the sparkles I've been sewing on ball gowns. I actually used gold rick-rack yesterday because I felt punchy. I built it into other trim so you couldn't tell unless you knew...
